Privacy Notice: RedHawk Newfoundland Survival Ltd
Last updated: October 9, 2026
This notice explains how RedHawk Newfoundland Survival Ltd ("RedHawk", "we", "us") handles personal information collected through redhawksurvival.ca.
Who handles your information
RedHawk is operated by RedHawk Newfoundland Survival Ltd, 4 Northwest Rd (mailing: PO Box 2002), Marystown, NL A0E 2M0. RedHawk is related to Canadian Adventure Charters Inc. ("CAC"). Notifications of course registrations are sent to CAC's mailbox, info@cacsd.ca, where they are read and handled by CAC's executive leadership on RedHawk's behalf.
Privacy officer: Cory Burry, info@cacsd.ca
What we collect
We collect only what you submit through our course registration form (see the next section). For spam and abuse prevention we also record your approximate country (from Cloudflare). Cloudflare Turnstile, our bot check, processes your IP address, browser (TLS) fingerprint and user agent. We do not store your IP address with your registration.
We have no accounts and take no payments.
We no longer run a mailing list. If you signed up for RedHawk updates earlier, you will not receive marketing email from us, and you can ask us to delete your details at info@cacsd.ca. We may keep a hashed (scrambled) copy of unsubscribed email addresses, only to honour opt-outs.
Course registration (redhawksurvival.ca/register/)
What we collect: your name, email and phone number, the course or courses you're interested in, your preferred dates, your experience level, an emergency contact (name and phone number), your confirmation that you are 19 or older, and your agreement to this notice. We record when you agreed and which version of this notice applied. The form asks no health questions and takes no payment.
Why: to reply to your registration, check seats and dates, plan the course with you and, if you attend, to run the course safely.
A registration is a request, not a confirmed seat or a contract. Your seat is confirmed only when we confirm it to you in writing.
Emergency contact: by giving us someone's details, you confirm that you have that person's permission to share them with us. We use them only to contact that person in an emergency during a course you attend.
Registering does not sign you up for marketing email.
We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Where it is stored: Cloudflare
Our site runs on Cloudflare, Inc., our service provider for:
- D1 database: stores course registrations;
- Turnstile: spam and bot checks;
- Email Routing: forwards form notifications from noreply@forms.cacsd.ca to info@cacsd.ca.
Our info@cacsd.ca mailbox is hosted by Zoho (Canada or the United States).
Cloudflare does not guarantee storage in Canada, so your information may be processed and stored in the United States or elsewhere. It may then be accessible to authorities there under local law. For Turnstile signals, Cloudflare also acts as a controller to improve its bot detection.
How long we keep it
- Course registrations: deleted 24 months after you register.
- If you attend a course: instead, your registration and attendance records are kept with your signed waiver for 7 years after the course, then securely deleted.
- Course completion certificates: a record of certificates issued may be kept longer, for as long as needed to verify them.
- Notification emails in the info@cacsd.ca mailbox are deleted on the same schedules.
Cookies
We use no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we set no cookies of our own. Cloudflare may use strictly necessary security cookies or tokens (including Turnstile) to protect the site. These are needed for the site to work and do not require consent.
Adults only
RedHawk is for adults 19 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 19 and will delete it if we learn we have.
Your rights (PIPEDA)
We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). You can ask to access, correct or delete your information, or withdraw consent, by emailing info@cacsd.ca. We respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca, 1-800-282-1376).
Visitors from the US, EU and UK
- EU and UK: we rely on steps you ask us to take before a contract and your consent (course registrations), and on legitimate interests for spam prevention. You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, to data portability, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data protection authority. Transfers to the US rely on Cloudflare's EU-US Data Privacy Framework certification or Standard Contractual Clauses.
- US: we do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising. You may request access or deletion through info@cacsd.ca.
